Indonesian cuisine is one of the most vibrant and colorful cuisines in the world. It is full of intense flavors, in part because Indonesia boasts the largest archipelago in the world with over 17,000 islands, populated by over 300 ethnic groups. As such, there is no one defined Indonesia cuisine but a myriad of regional and indigenous cuisines. We have over 5,300 traditional recipes.

Throughout our history, Indonesia has been a trade center between the East and West due to our strategic geographical location and abundance of natural resources. Spices is also a main traded goods. We are also known as the “Spice Islands”, producing native spices like cloves and nutmeg.

Our dishes are cooked with love and spices, demonstrating a complex rich flavor, most often described as savory, hot or spicy to our guests.
