Indonesian cuisine is one of the most vibrant and colorful cuisines in the world. It is full of intense flavors, in part because Indonesia boasts the largest archipelago in the world with over 17,000 islands, populated by over 300 ethnic groups. As such, there is no one defined Indonesia cuisine but a myriad of regional and indigenous cuisines with over 5,300 traditional recipes.

Throughout our history, Indonesia has been a trade center between the East and the West due to its strategic geographical location. The volcanic region has also blessed the country with an abundance of natural resources. Indonesia is also knowns as the “Spice Islands”, producing native spices like cloves and nutmeg for export.

Our dishes are cooked with lots of spices, demonstrating a complex rich flavor, most often described as savory, hot and spicy to our guests.
